Animals and Singrüeni

I woke up around 9am this morning. I think I'm finally close- if not there- to being on European time. That made me really happy! The fog had settled in low over the rolling hills. It had rained during the night. So what you could see was glistening with raindrops. Beautiful as always! I meandered downstairs for some breakfast and to have my first cup of coffee since Colorado! Florian and I found instant coffee last night. Well worth the money. It was a very nice treat on a cold morning. While I delightfully sipped my coffee and munched on some toast, I enjoyed a conversation with my cousin Stef. It made me realize I haven't really had good one-on-one conversations with Stef. Add that to the list of reasons I'm happy this trip is happening!

Finally, about an hour later, I slipped on warm clothes, grabbed a thermos of hot tea, (desperately saving the coffee!) and went off on my walk. I decided to explore the Tier Park next to the the Bachmann's. I was expecting to maybe see some animals but mostly enjoy a nice walk. Well apparently morning is the time to go! All the animals were out and unafraid to let me quietly observe them. I saw deer, pigs, wolves, bears, moose, foxes, and even the Lynx let me watch them for a bit

However, my favorite to sit and watch we're the Steinbock. I've never laughed so hard. There were babies sprinting around as the elder males clearly just scoffed at them. Babies annoying other babies. I must have sat for 45 minutes watching. Hilarious.

I eventually pulled myself away from my entertainment to go home for lunch. As always, amazing feast was prepared. So good! Then Florian and I went to the Bachmann's newest house in Singrüeni. He had some electrical work to do since the house is still in progress, and I like new places. So off we went! It's about an hour and a half away, so I watched beautiful country scroll past me as we chatted. Little Swiss villages on the hillsides, over looking majestic mountains. Arriving at their beautiful house, I gazed at the stream running through the lush green hills. I could practically see Heidi running through the hills.

Florian patiently let me help with electrical work. I will have you all know I didn't shock anyone or start any fires. I'm practically a professional all ready. Although finishing he had me make labels... Maybe I'm not quite there yet!

As the sunset beneath the hills we headed on home. Deterring to Maria's house to help fix a truck, I got to see the quick tour of more little villages. Always good for me! As I don't speak German or really know that much about trucks, I'm writing a blog while they diligently work. Yes, I know... Typical slacking on my end. All that label making took it out of me!

Anyway, we are headed home now. We are going to to have a family movie night tonight. Should be great! Till mañana...
