Yesterday morning, Sunday, woke up to a quite cold foggy day outside. Going downstairs, I found Aunt Sarah making waffles for breakfast. Mmmmm!
Afterwards, we all went into their living room for a small church service. A very nice way to join together and start the week off.
When church was done, me not being the biggest fan of the cold, decided it would be an in between day. I only had a couple hours till dinner and didn't want to spend the money on a train ticket for that. So it was a relaxing home day. Stef and I (and a little bit of help from Tom) made a cake! A triple layer chocolate cake. It was, as Stef said, a bit like practicing alchemy by the end of it. It looked great and even tasted good. So I'm counting it as a success.
Afterwards, I caught up on Skype calls with some people. That was very nice - a piece of home. We had a big dinner with the family in the evening. Later in the evening, Florian's friend Alex came over. Florian made sure to introduce me since he will be joining us on the adventure today.
What adventure you ask? Oh my, didn't tell you! Why, today Florian, Alex, and I are driving to Serbia! A twelve hour drive there and we will spend a couple days there before driving back. Florian needs work on his car and apparently it's cheaper or better or something there. (I'm so on top car talk.) Anyway, who am I to say no to a ride to Serbia!? So off we go today. We'll stay with Alex's cousin, David. Even more exciting is we will be there for the Orthodox New Year. Apparently, as Alex told me, it's unlike anything I've seen. So I'm very excited about that.
I'll do my best to give you good updates. I'm assuming I'll have enough internet since I'm with Florian to do this at least. However, as for today, I'll be sitting in a car. That's why this post's timing is a little late/early, depending on how you look at it. Until Serbia... Živeli!
