Zooh!

It was a lazy morning. I got up shamefully late, had a cup of coffee while talking to Sarah, then had lunch with the family. After lunch, Tom and I headed to Zürich. Our plans? The Zoo! Or as they advertised, "The Zooh!"

It was a great zoo. I must admit it's been a while since I've been to the Denver Zoo. So maybe my opinion is skewed. But I'd say it's the best zoo I've been too. We (mostly me...) regressed to a child again. Laughing to much at the flamingos swimming, walking in the steps of the "elephant tracks," talking with the penguins, wanting to go down the slide, and more. Tom patiently let me go for it most of the time. Up until the elephant walking. Then he muttered, "Oh Americans..." Guess I deserved that one.

This post will mostly be pictures for two reasons. Number One: I got some comments on how my post yesterday was to wordy and long. To balance it out, pictures galore today! Number Two: it's a zoo. Hopefully, I don't need to put to much description into that for you. I'll still comment as we go along a bit. But sit back, and enjoy!

(No, I did not know this child...⬆️ It was just to cute to not snap a picture of.)

Part of the reason we did the zoo today was because of their rainforest exhibit. It was cold, so it sounded like a nice warm option. Basically, it's a huge huge greenhouse. Immediately all the jackets came off and warm drops of dew fell from the ceiling. But there were real plants growing high into the sky. Monkeys swung from the ceiling bars. Bats hung silently. Birds flew all over. Turtles swam in the pond. Frogs meandered aimlessly. And the children laughed and pranced down the pathways. They also had built a staircase to a platform over looking the whole area. It was quite impressive and very well done. Another point to the Zürich Zoo!

(That's a bat! ⬆️)

The final stop in the Zoo was the elephant house. They had set up the walkway there as a village in Thailand. Music played around little huts and "elephant prints" lined the sidewalk. Aonther point! The inside of the building was gorgeous as well, also designed with a Thailand theme. The elephants were a bit coy, but it was neat to see nonetheless.

(Walk like an Egyp- Elephant!)

The day ended with a dinner and warm conversation. As Stef and I worked on cleaning up, we started talking about songs. So we headed to the piano to do some music making. From Les Miserables to Lord of the Rings songs, we covered it. It was really good to be singing again. Always a perfect end to anyday!
